The Vision and GenesisThe mandate God this movement is to raise work force for mission agencies and mission-oriented churches by mobilizing and equipping Christian students for missions. This is done in conjunction with several mission agencies and mission oriented churches. Though the movement started sometime early 1994, the inauguration ceremony took place on the 20th May, 1995 in Nigeria. It is expected that as the students are exposed and acquainted with various mission works round the world, it will be easier for them to be part of any of these after their graduation, as God leads them. SMC has two membership arms; students and non-student arm. The non-student arm is known as The Battle Axe. SMC is strongly refereed to as a movement because we believe that God will through it raise workers for many Christian mission ministries. Already, we have started seeing God doing this. Currently, nothing less that 6 known former student members of SMC are full time missionaries with some mission agencies in Nigeria, while a greater number had at one time or the other volunteered in several mission works. Today, SMC members are spread in different institutions of learning and cities within and outside Nigeria. SMC’s chapters’ times of membership meetings vary. Regular activities of the movement include research, publicity, library services, evangelism and discipleship, Intercession for missions, mobilization of support for missionaries and skills & vocational services in Christian missions. Each SMC chapter has its own leadership structure. Zonal, Regional and National leadership are drawn from both current and ex-officio members. Objectives of SMC
